Finding a sense of belonging in my town

Hi
I'm happily married with 2 wonderful little boys and have a good career but I'm struggling making town friends. I'm a working mother always wanted best friends but I've been here for 7 hrs and still have had no real connections with anyone. Can anyone out there relate?

I have lived in our current house for 8 years and still have no true friends in the area.

I have only neighbors and aquaintances. I am 51, I do not know if it is my age or the culture these days, but it is hard to find people who want to be friends and connect. There seems to be this internet non-commitment texting thing going on that people jump on.

My best friend is my husband, has been for 24 years. Married 22. I have 2 girl friends I can call and talk with, been friends 18 + years. That is about it.

Some people just do not seem to gravitate a lot of friends and that is ok.

I am sure as your boys get older and are more involved in things you will meet more couples and become friends with more women. Just be careful what you wish for, shallow relationships can be hurtful, so keep it all real.
