Hi all, this is my first post.
dobson you are correct with what you said about the cravings. I am also anemic and I crave ice cubes. when i'm home I eat like 6 to 8 trays at one time several times a nite. it's strange. there's also a condition called pica that is sometimes related to defencies like anemia or psychological problems.
heres some info from webmd.com
Pica is an eating disorder that is characterized by the repeated eating of non-nutritive substances over a period of one month or longer. Patients may eat non-edible objects such as paint, plaster, dirt, ice, or laundry starch. Pica generally affects small children, pregnant women, and people whose cultural environment is most compatible with the eating of non-food items.
Pica is a condition in which a person craves substances that are not food, such as clay, dirt, ice, or flecks of old paint. Pica can have a physical cause, such as iron-deficiency anemia or pregnancy, or it may be due to a psychological problem.
