I think I will make the cakeballs again. I had trouble with the almond bark and had to spread it on them with a knife, but Courtney said to add a little crisco, so I will try that next time. My friend's daughter loved them. I ate one, they are very sweet. But nice gift. I like them because once you get the coating on, they are easy to keep.

You sound so busy with the figures. That must make you feel good to be able to do that and see them go out to the public. I always felt good to see a finished project go out. And I know that they aren't easy. Painting never is. I started two paintings of butterflies but haven't finished them. Thought I could work on them in the winter.

I have around twenty scarves done for the animal shelter. I hope that they sell good for them. I kind of think that they will as it will be cold by then.

It has been warmer here too. Was in the 70's the other day. I hope we get an indian summer. Maybe this is it. lol...

I am crochetting the scarves. A few mistakes but they look okay. I am just doing double crochet through them. Using different yarns for all so that they don't all look the same.

For the cakeballs, I baked a yellow cake, crumbled it up before it cooled. Mixed in a can of cream cheese frosting. Let it set to firm. Then I shaped the balls and put them in the freezer until I was ready to coat with almond bark. As I said the coating wasn't easy, had to spread on with a knife. I did it though. They harden rather quickly. I tried to do the bark in the microwave but it started arcking. so I then did it with a double boiler. I even tried to heat just in a pan with low heat. I might of kept the almond bark too long. I bought the stuff when we first started talking about it.

do you use DBT or CBT skills? Mindfulness or meditation now? These help to put space between you and your emotions, cuts down on the hospital stays.

You are a survivor, that is for sure. Hope that the hurricane doesn't hit anybody. I haven't checked it today. Went shopping for awhile. I am tired today. Had lots of pain lately with this weather and the barometric pressure.

late for a check in but who cares. My daughter is 'living' with me while she goes to school. I had great visions of how nice it would be to hang out and learn this new city together. Oops. I work and she goes to school. If I'm lucky, I see her for maybe 6 hours a week and then he heads back home on the weekends.

I gave up a lot for this place. I spent more than I should have but I wanted a nice home for her and I. Now I regret it. I pay in rent more than most mortgages and for what? A place that's just a lonely shell. She went home with the car a few hours ago and now I won't see her till sometime Monday night, as I work.

I just need to vent folks. Thanks. It's raining but I still might force myself out for a bike ride. I gotta do SOMETHING. This place is turning into a cell. W're supposed to have rain all weekend adn to top things off, she has our one umbrella in the car.

Well, this could be taken 2 ways. 1] I stay in all weekend and weep a willow or 2] I just figure I'll get wet. I think a little dampness will aggravate the Fibro but that physical pain is easier to deal with than the self-imposed depression. Yup.

well, just got in from a great ride. Nearly 3 hours in the rain and dark on a trail I've never ridden before. I was rigged tho'...had a bright halogen headlight strapped to me noggin'. Still quite a thrill to be scootin' along in a light tunnel not knowing whats around the bend.

Days were, I'd turn to spending, drugs, booze for that rush of danger but WOW that bike ride was an real adrenalin rush. I know now how I'm gonna beat my depression and maybe even finally quit smoking. I don't figure I've many more years that I'll be able to ride like this [I'm 52] so I best dive right in.

This site has just turned my night right around....so what if it was me talking it out. I couldn't do it anywhere else.

Mags, haven't looked at weather reports yet this morning...but I expect 'stuff' will start here Monday.
Yes, have been 'preparing'. We have a portable generator to keep the fridge active. Propane stove, so cook top will be available for coffee and soups!

Next project will be to fill the tubs (good suggestion) I know you've 'been there - done that'. Thanks for advice.

Karen, Son left the shop early to take his daughter to Orthodontist. No major disaster. Her new braces (just 'adjusted' by him) had a problem. He then came back to work and saw we had closed down the lights etc.

Guess it's time to turn on the TV and see what's up.
