I read a book called "Theraeutic Lifestyle Change" for fighting depression. It is a step by step guide and follows the following principles -
a) Omega 3 Supplements
b) Physical Exercize
c) Adequate Sunlight
d) Cessation of Rumination
e) Wholesome Sleep
f) Connecting to people
It is a good book, and I wud recommend it to all.
