    As I stated before,  I haven't posted in here for a long time and I truly appreciate all those who responded to my post.  I have to say, I got alittle carried away with the whole isolation thing, but it is what it is and bringing it out in the open has helped.  This mild agorphobic element of my life has tested my willingness to confront my fears and returning here to the Forum has really helped...  In fact, I went with my daughter and her friend to a park, yesterday, something which I had been dreading and of course, it turned out to be a lovely experience, after all...  So, thanks everyone and I will keep posting..  peace out!

I am glad that coming here is helping you. I am so proud of all the members hee, their willingness to share experiences and give the best advice that they can. They are truly an inspiration to all. And you Mr. Hippy are a good soul... You seem to have a lot of kindness and compassion in your heart. I think we all do.

I hope that you have a good night. From one old hippy to another. Actually 13 years ago, somebody younger than myself asked me if I was an old hippy... lol... If I was an old hippy then, I must be an ancient one now. lol... Of course I said "yes"...

Old Hippy,

I am so happy for you! We both had a banner day yesterday, I returned to a small, yet intimate yoga group that I had avoided for almost 2 years, last night. Welcomed back with open arms like I never left. It was intense and wonderful at the same time.

It takes strength to be as brave as you are, well done! I am sure your daughter will remember that day for a very long time!

From 1 old hippie to another

I too struggle with leaving my house (altho it feels like a comfy prison). My DIL has driving phobia. I told her it'll be hell to get me out to go to her house and she cannot drive to my house-we just laughed at ourselves...sometimes it is all we can do.

Good for you getting to the park. Once I get someplace I usually do well, but it's the thought of going that scares me....I really can think myself into a tizz.

It sounds like aLOT of us have some obstacles to returning to a life that has value. But I know that the support I get here helps me get out that door and I am proud of you OH so keep posting and keep walking out that door!
