I've been looking for two long years.  I'm relieved (I'll finally have some money) but at the same time I'm kind of freaking out about it.  I'm extremely shy and get really stressed out about meeting new people and being thrown into a totally new situation.  I'm also worried that I won't know enough.  Originally, they were looking for someone with a four year accounting degree (which I don't have) so I was kind of shocked that they offered me the job.  I hope I won't disappoint them.

Another thing that's bugging me is that my boyfriend didn't seem excited about it.  He's an airline pilot and has a lot of time off at home and he seemed more concerned that he would be losing his playmate during the day than excited for me.

yeah  Gretchen,

I am soo happy for you. Listen, go there bright, confident and ready and eager to learn. The rest will follow. Be yourself but be humble for a few weeks. Ask questions if your not sure about things. It would be better for you to ask than to fail. I lift you up for the Lord to touch you. As for your "boyfriends playmate", tell him to go buy a blowup doll, Ha-Ha. Good luck, God bless!

congrats on getting the job. I know how hard it is to find jobs. It took me a while to find one. Don't worry about not knowing enough. You must have some great qualities that they were looking for because you were the one they selected.

Congratulations on your job offer!

Your letter worried me a bit about your boyfriend. Please be wary of a boyfriend who is not supportive or excited for you and your goals and dreams. You said he was more interested in having a playmate during the day..and I was a bit confused and concerned about this. Does he think of you as just that or someone to have fun with? If so, this is a red flag, and something to consider (that is, if you are looking for a healthy, long term relationshop with this person). Maybe it is time for a heart to heart with him to see what he is looking for and needing at this time of his life. Maybe I just misunderstood your letter, and if so, I apologize.

Today was my first day.  I was really nervous.  I cried all night last night worrying about it.  It wasn't too bad though.  Everyone was really nice to me.  It was just really boring.  I think I'll feel a little better going there tomorrow.

Glad your first day went OK. Hope today is even better. Hopefully as you get more into the job it will become more challenging. Keep us up to date on how things are going.
