There was a previous poem thread which I liked. I felt like sharing, but did not want to do it on the other thread because my poems are not very good or inspirational. For me poetry is a great outlet which helps me to sort and deal with the feelings invoked by my depression. *I invite you all to share any poetry you have on this thread.*

Forgotten

I found myself laughing the other day
It made my face hurt
And my belly ache
The sound seemed
Foreign to my ears
Like it was someone else
I have to force myself
To cling
To the moment
Like a precious jewel
For who knows
When I will find myself
Again

Moments like these
Are like the dust
On a black velvet tapestry
In the back of my mind
Glistening with light
In the darkness of my life
Each one a momentary
Treasure
Once experienced
And then gone
Plunging me back
Into lightlessness

I wake up
Each day
Looming before me
I am nothing
Dragging on in misery
My life, unfulfilled
My dreams, unattainable
My self, unsatisfied
Invisible
Alone

My pathetic cries
Go unheard
My tears
Unchecked
There is no comfort
For me
Strong arms
Do not hold me
Soft words
Do not sooth me

Looking in the mirror
I see a shadow
I see in my eyes
Darkness and despair
I see my face
An expressionless mask
Too tired to go on
Unable to give in
I look for something
Inside of me
Maybe she was never there

i have not written one in awhile, i posted this awhile back, hope you like it. it is wriien by me.

the garden of miracles.

be plant nor tree
and at one with the wind-
of land and sea.
time esence of love,
the birds the trees and the doves.
pictures of truth,
in the garden i see,
miracles of birth-
from you from me,
be planted today
for all to see.

So nice to see another Poem thread Desertaquarius. I think you should try to write and not judge, we are all our own worse critics.

I don't feel like sharing one of my own this time so I will share one that inspires me on a regular basis. It is entitled "Why do I Live"


I live for those who love me,
For those who know me true,
For the heaven that bends above me,
and the good that I can do;
For all the wrongs that need resistance,
For the cause that lacks assistance,
For the future in the distance,
and the good that I can do.
