Not having a great day. I am quickly learning what a roller coaster feels like when you have significant depression and GAD. Felt OK yesterday. Today I am struggling to keep my thoughts in check to the point I am having difficulty with simple functions like getting up to shave and brush my teeth. Just been sitting at my desk all day over-thinking, irrationally I know, about
things that really are not likely to happen. I am starting a new business in a month and am thinking about
everything that might go wrong rather than the reality that it will be fine. I had my first session with a CBT counselor and she has encouraged me to think about
positive cues when I begin cycling these thoughts. Easy I thought.....
So rationally, I know I am early in treatment, just had my first session and have not quite hit three weeks on Zoloft. I know it needs more time. I feel worse (more depressed/anxious) than when I started. I am worried though about
getting through the next month to my new venture, my physical/mental health seems to be deteriorating rapidly - I just need to be able to 'function' - do what I need to do and today for the first time, I realized I might not have the will. This has been the most difficult thing I have dealt with in my 50+ years.
I am not excited about
taking more med's but am willing to try anything that will help me feel better in the short term and deal with my responsibilities during the day. Are there any med's that won't interact poorly with Zoloft that can help relieve my anxiety and/or perhaps help me sleep and not lie in bed thinking? Thanks in advance for any advice and listening. I have an appointment with my GP Monday and want to be prepared.

Hi there,
Try to relax and breathe... In through the nose and out through the mouth. It helps with anxiety.
Maybe the doc could give you some antianxiety medication. If not, learn meditation. Also medications like risperdol and abilify help you to not overthink.
I hope that you find what works for you. Keep us posted.
Hugs, Karen

Karen,
Do you know anything about
Xanax? If so, would it be an option for events like I described yesterday? Are med's like this what you mean by anti-anxiety? Thanks for responding yesterday.
Be well.

I would explain to your
doctor
and see what they think. I think xanax would help you, or a mood stabilizer. Xanax works wonders for me...
I hope that you feel better soon!
Hugs, Karen
