Welcome to the forum. Good decision on letting your professor know.
Check with the college and see if there is a Wellness Center or councelor center available to student at your University. Many have therapist available free to students.
Take vitamin D3 to help with your mood, it really do help keep you out of the darkness, ask the pharmacist how much you should take, if you do not have a doctor you can go and see.
