some years mothers day really gets to me and this year it is. although some may not approve at the time i was young and had an abortion with my ex abusers child. sometimes i wonder what it would have been like to kept the baby and celebrate mothers day....i feel sad today. i know it was my choice back then but i dont know....:(

It was a choice you made Melanie probably because you had to at the time. Mother's day is hard for me too. I didn't have a good relationship with my mother. And I didn't have any children to wish me happy Mother's day... I guess we all have to group together and work on things. I am sorry you are down. I hope that you can feel better soon. Don't be down on yourself for choices you have made. You are young and can still have children. I hope... Take the day and relax and do something nice for yourself. You deserve it...

Hi melanie,

Karen and Carl are both right. It was a choice you made a long time ago. You will always wonder what could have been or how today could have been when these occasions comes up and it will make you feel sad. But always think about the positives. When I woke-up this morning and checked my phone, I thought about the same thing. However, I just reminded myself of the reason I had to do it and it was the right thing.

I do hope you are feeling better today. If my mother were alive today, I would have no relationship with her. My whole life it toxic and terrible. So you have made the right and healthy decision. Yes, it is a tough decision, I have made with my brother and sister now.

In the end, you will be glad, I have faith that non toxic relationships are better for us.
