Treatment resistant depression with anxiety

My husband has failed all SSRI's, recently on Lamictal ^100mg, failed mindfulness therapy, failed meditation, yoga, benzos, unable to work last 3 years, wants to die, afraid to actually kill self, has self medicated to avoid the pain of waking up wont try ect or TCMS, is a MD with genius IQ, that has strong family hx. Is their a hospice for treatment resistant depression? Running out of ideas to help him.. Desperate wife.

Welcome to the depression forum. I am truly sorry for what is going on. You really can't fail mindfulness therapy and meditation. It is just stuff you have to keep working at. Your husband has some work to do whether he realizes it or not. Treatment resistant depression is the pits. I do admit that. But tell him not to give up. Keep trying. Get him some books on dbt and cbt therapy. They really help.

I hope things get better. One day at a time is the best that we can do.

Karen is right. MD's make the worse patients!

Mindfulness and meditations is something that has to become part of your life. It is not something that you pass or fail at. These skills are things that become part of who you are to deal with the illness of depression along with your medication.

mindful.org is a great site for YOU to go to. Read some of the articles and support blogs maybe you will find something that you can share with him that will open his eyes.
