Hi all-I'm new here and have 2 questions that I hope some one can help with. First, I've battled depression my whole life, but lately, when I am really feeling depressed, it's been accompanied by a migraine-type headache. Does this happen to anyone else? Needless to say, the pain doesn't help the depression.
Second, what advice can you give me for dealing with people who shut me out of things (both at work and socially) because they are self-proclaimed "positive thinkers" and I'm sometimes negative (as people suffering from depression cannot help but be from time to time). I find this to be a problem a lot, quite honestly, so just finding other people who accept me doesn't seem like an option. It makes me so angry because several of the people that shut me out of things are very vocal about
welcoming, accommodating, and involving people with physical or mental challenges, but they don't seem to count depression among the things that merit attention or accommodation or inclusiveness. I sometimes wish there were some physical deformity that accompanied depression. Then, maybe, people wouldn't exclude me from things because I can't be positive all the time...
Thanks for any thoughts.

It is very possible to have migraines from the stress of being depressed. Stuffing all the anger and emotions instead of dealing with it will do that! I used to suffer from cluster headaches.
People avoid things that they don't understand and what scares them. Until they educate themselves and relieve the feat, do not expect a better response.
Sounds like some folks you know are getting to close to something that is hitting a nerve. so they sorround themselves with positive people and don't have to deal with the bad in life. Won't make it go away, they will have to deal it their stuff at some point.
Just know it is not you personally, it is their stuff they are bothered by, they just don't know it yet. I am sorry that this hurts your feelings, but you are better than this.
I wish you Peace and Strength

Thanks for the great advice! It's really so comforting to know I'm not alone. I might even be able to interact with some "muggles" :)
