Very depressed :(

Hi everyone,

I've been so down recently. I can't really talk about it but it has shook me up really bad that happened.

Anyway, onto Rhory. He's waking up at night now and it's tiring me out. I don't know why he's doing it. He's only done it the past couple of nights. I put it down to either cold/hot, hunger, teething or how dark it is in the morning now. He wakes up like he normally does in the morning, coos and smiles when I come in, although this is at 2.30am or 5am. As soon as I put his dummy in and shush him, he falls back to sleep, so I've ruled out hunger and cold/hot. I can't understand it. Unless he is doing it for attention, then I am a fool. Or it is a phase. Gosh no! Whatever it is I'm losing sleep and having to have naps in the day now :(

We shopped this week. First time in a month and we've got a letter threatened to be sanctioned again! So possibly no money for three months and no food for three months, plus no bills paid. There has been a lot of swearing going on with the job centre and uproars and my fiance in tears over it. It is getting that bad now. So I don't know what we're going to do with life. We can't even afford a high chair for Rhory. A high chair!!!!!! I'm a failure to him. I can't give him anything!!!! Now I know how dads feel with financial pressures. It sucks and it is cruel we have to live like this. I seriously want to punish our government for all they are doing to people like us :'(

Best go. The little rascal sounds like he's awake.......again!!!!! I'm sooo tired.

Hang in there the best you can.. You may want to put a notice up at Church or local library for a needed highchair. People may be willing to give one away.

Good to know that you're back again.. although I wish it's under different circumstances.

I don't really know much about babies, but I think it's his teething... It is quite new to him so that's one possible reason.

That's really cruel of your government! I'm so sorry that you're going through a tough time but I hope it would get better. May I ask you why are you getting those letters ? It's okay for not affording a high chair, some people just have a big problem on money and you're one of it but things would get better soon. You're not a failure to Rhory, you're doing the best you can!! So don't think of that. Annie, you're a wonderful person and even though you think I'm just a total stranger in this world but I know you're a wonderful person. You're doing all the best you can and that's all that matters. I'm sure Rhory would understand when he grows up, he's a good and smart boy.

You may check with churches, too. A lot of churches have items they can give to people who need them.

He's probably waking because of teething. I'd say if he's not fussing to let him stay in the crib and don't come in. He may soothe himself to sleep. This I learned the hard way. My first baby, also a boy, learned that mama would come running if he woke and then he could sleep with me. Even now he has a hard time putting himself to sleep. My daughter I let self soothe. If she fussed some but nothing was wrong, I'd let her fuss and shed go back to sleep. She's the easiest child to put to bed. Say its bedtime and she's off to bed with no complaints. So I'd suggest trying that. It's hard for mama to not pick up their baby whenever baby wants it, I know.
