Hi.
I'm so sorry for the way you are feeling. I understand.
First, make an appointment with your doctor for a physical. Discuss the possibility of depression with him/her. You have to be honest. With him/her and yourself.
Second, I'd make small goals for myself. Nothing like helping others to help you feel better. Can you volunteer somewhere? The library, hospital, local animal shelter? Find something you enjoy and dive in. Many organizations need help this time of year- feeding the homeless and such. Maybe you need to work up to this. I know on bad days, my goal is just to get out of bed and into a shower. Start wherever you need to.
Third, know that you are not alone. Everyone on this site is so understanding and helpful. We truly know how you feel. Come here any time to vent, share, or just to get different ideas.
Fourth, and I'm learning this one slowly- be good to yourself. I have a lot of negative self talk. I also don't do many things to make myself happy. My birthday is Wednesday and I've decided on a haircut and a mani/pedi. No one else is going to spoil me but me so why not. I also need to exercise more... Maybe that's one of those New Years resolutions! :)
Fifth, have you thought about counseling? When I'm well, I go once a month. When I'm I a slump like now, I go once a week- some days I feel like I need once a day! :). It really helps me change my thinking of myself and events around me. Maybe talking to someone could help you.
Make that appointment with your doctor. Only you can take the steps to help yourself get better. I'm sending you ((((hugs)))))) and good thoughts-
Michele
P.s.- sorry it's so long! I talk a lot!
