Hi loveathome,
Best wishes, I hope that you are ok.
I am not in my 40's, but just over my mid 30's.
I don't have children or a husband, but on babysitting recently, I realised that I did, up my enthusiasm, and enjoyed playing games etc, really made me smile.
I can understand that when it isn't as busy, it is easier to think, therefore, 'possibly' easier to A. think about anything which had already been bothering me, and B. easier to just think generally.
I find when I'm busy, I actually make more of my free time, rather than less and when not so busy, I don't spend enough of my free time doing the things I actually feel are either part of my life or hobbies which I did enjoy.
I am sorry that you have felt anxious and sad. One more thing! Importantly for me, I've realised that when I share more of 'me' and not worry so much about what people think, when I'm with friends, the more I enjoy the situation, because I'm getting something out of it, ie; sharing my own interests, more openly.
Best wishes!
