There is still hope. Some people start feeling better before the six to eight weeks, but not all. Give it the time, and if you don't feel better, let your doctor know, maybe you need an increase or a switch.
Are you sure you don't have something else going on besides depression? Something physical? Have you had a physical and blood work lately?
It is easy to get discouraged. But the medication is getting into your system and then your body will work with it. I take abilify, it helps the anti depressant work better. It is also a mood stabilizer and for bipolar. It helps me a lot.
Counseling for yourself or reading self help books may help you. I learned a lot with a book called "feeling good". It works with cbt.
I hope that you start feeling better soon. Coming on here and knowing that you aren't alone helps. You get a lot of support.
Take care and have a good night.
Hugs, Karen
