I wonder if the pain ever goes away.I did make it thru holidays no drinking 16 weeks.but still depressed.I want to know if I ever will be loved again

You may have to focus on yourself first and foremost.

That is build on your positives ... likely with a little help from a counselor.

Then ....... yep ....... there's always another chance coming.

Keep positive .......

Love you first! When you love yourself other people sense the calm in you and are drawn toward you. The holidays can be so tough and you should really be proud of yourself for not drinking! That's awesome!

Rob is right about focusing on yourself and therapy. Therapy is a great tool to help us cope with depression and really is helpful!

You are loved, just not by the person you want to be love by.
This happens to us all in life. We get stronger through this experience and are better for it.

Focus on yourself and those around you. The good in life and those that need you.

many moons ago eddie i thought the same thing when my partner suddenly passed away. i took six years of grieving but i have found that true love in life. it has been a work in progress. my mantra on the forum and in life is 'slow and steady wins the race'. keep seeking support. i am in therapy and it really helps me. keep posting, we care.

Eddie,

Congratulations on not drinking!!! That is awesome, it is hard to stop... You will be loved, you just have to stop looking for it and just let it happen. You never know what is just around the corner... Hang in there and keep posting...
