Getting off Lexapro

Hi all,

I am concerned that I have figured out my own problems on day 17 of 10mg of lexapro, and I want to get off the drug.

Is it true that lexapro causes weight gain?

Also what is the best way to get off of it without withdraw symptoms

Im trying 7.5 mg tonight, see how i feel tomorrow.

same thing tomorrow,

then I will try 5 mg on thursday

until I see doc on monday!

i have a large support group of friends and family (5 key people who know exactly what I am going through) so i can definitely contact them if I see major changes in my behaviour.

I will let all know my progress as I go along.

When do the withdrawal symptoms usually occur? 2-3 days after changing dose?

Are you sure that the lexapro wasn't helping??? It may have helped you to solve your problem. Be sure that the doctor knows what you are doing.
