Daily Check In Thread For All!!! #74

   There have been a few surprises here the last few days ... but no ride for Gizmo and no coffee either on thursday or Friday. This morning was more normal - 29 degrees (cool .... in all meanings possible) and Gizzy saw two little dogs this morning. It's just too windy ... but better than most of the last 3-1/2 months weatherwise.

   I was in the hospital Thursday for a 20-minute minor operation that took just over 6-hours of time - with the ****** waiting! It was a routine replacement of the catheter on or in my right kidney. And late that night, it ripped out of my back. That was the first time for that with over 600-days of having this catheter.(???)

   The next morning, I called the hospital - went back in for a re-insertion of the catheter. It did do a little damage coming out - bruises and bleeding - and that was more like a 30-minute minor surgery ... but again close to 6-hours of time to complete - after all the waiting!!!

   Last night was lots of rest and sleep time. I had planned on going to a Japanese restaurant with a few people tonight - and to go with Gizmo to a fund-raiser on Sunday ..... but I need the rest after the past two days instead.

   My right kidney was hurting yesterday - but it's better today. The rest is needed for the body to repair!!!!

   And Thursday night was a very different experience from 5:30pm on! I called someone from the Spirituality group I belong to .... and was on the phone for 3-hours. She called me back a little later, and we were on the phone for another 3+hours.

   I don't remember the last time that happened - if it ever did before. It was two pretty sick people trying to feel some comfort and getting to know each other in a way. She has cancer and it's very much complicted by Crohn's and a history of nasty operations.

   And i got an e-mail from a couple - where the husband is going thru the beginning of the same chemo I'm on .... so he had many questions and is pretty scared of the terminal implications of what we both have. I wrote him an e-mail and said to call this week-end if he can ... would be glad to help wherever i can.

   And the coffee was great this morning - especially without any the past two days.

   Hope everyone is well. Karen .... it must be much nicer by you this morning than so many other past mornings. Supposed to get rain here this week-end.

   JB1 ...... so you had hypnosis in the past! The group session I went to a week ago was for medical hypnosis ... and I'm considering going to see him on an individual basis. Were your hypnosis sessions worthwhile?

   Michele ....... you really sound like you have put some things together for yourself over the past couple of months. Congrats to you!!! You sound much healthier in attitude!

   MissJD ........ Some of my waiting both days was for an antibiotic going thru an IV that had to be completed first before the actual procedure - but, yeah ... there still was a lot of waiting!

   Karen ....... glad to hear your temperature has been sane for a couple of days now. You had said you have a sandy soil .... so you shouldn't have to worry about muddy areas as the snow melts. We have a large amount of clay here .... so it can get real dirty outside. Nothing quite like washing off the dogs feet before they come in!

   Hope AV is better and that none of her problems involve the kidneys!

   Myself ....... I stated it elsewhere .. but ... don't ever feel as though you were a failure. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

   OMG .... I slept last night from 5:00pm to close to 5:00am this morning. I woke up 4 or 5 times briefly .... even missed "Helix" last night. But, my pain in the kidney is gone ... and my back will take at least a few days - but I needed the rest. Keep that in mind "Happy Turtle"! You need it even more than I.

   Most places in this country are above freezing now .... very cool!!!!!
