Just how does one slow down?
Sometimes ... too many things happen too soon ... without a chance to breathe between it seems! Not exactly a revelation was it?
It's easy to talk priorities .... not quite as easy to do priorities though! But, it's worth a shot!
The #1 priority right now is that ice cream. Why wait to relive a little of your childhood? Since a re-check of a lump is 6-month away, you don't really want to put that ice cream back in the freezer for 6-months and one day - do you???
And you mentioned something that was near and dear to me. It was about your two dogs .... and how logic tells you that you really shouldn't go into the hospital. Geez ..... is there an echo in here?
Yep ..... I go thru the darnest excercises when I need to go into the hospital out patient area for a procedure. I first ask if i can drive there and back myself. If I can, then i know I won't be too long and my dog will be OK at home alone. It's a high priority to know this!
And I will do almost anything, like last Thursday "let's skip the sedative" when I was in the hospital .... knowing that I would then be allowed to drive straight home and not spend the night at the hospital for observation.
Sometimes us dog-owners do stretch the priorities a bit. But ..... priorities are a way of helping to organize our thoughts .... so that we don't quite feel as overwhelmed. Try that .... maybe by thinking about that little dog story!
Oh, and it's not exactly a story. Gizmo or Gizzy is my dog - and my closest form of daily support. My e-mail address and my auto license plate both have gizmo in them. I know ...... another crazy dog owner!
