Well, it's finally here. Today is divorce day. As you know, I spent Sunday beating myself up. Yesterday, I had an upset stomach all day.

I'm not nervous about seeing him; I'm confident I'm doing the right thing. What I'm worried about is since we are doing this ourselves without lawyers, what if we screwed up the paper work and the divorce won't be granted!! I need this done so I can move on!!

Please send good thoughts my way this morning!

I am not sure where you are from Mustang but I know I courts will not even take the papers unless they are filled completely and correct. I have to pay someone to do my paperwork, its hard...

Dont worry its all gonna be just fine and he will be gone and you will be happy. Yay

Hello Michele ....

   If you MUST think of it as a wasted two years, you should be feeling pretty good that it was just two years.

   When my D-day came, it was just over 23-years!

   Everything will work out fine in court. Don't worry about the paperwork. It's likely to be a day of mixed blessings - but as you said, you're confident you are doing the right thing. That's what matters ... to move ahead!

   I think you're attitude the past few months proves you're doing the right thing!

Hi All!

Well at 9 AM this morning, I was officially divorced. His final words were "take care". I mumbled something under my breath that I can't type here! Lol

Honestly, when I got in my car, I cried. I'm not sure if it was a final release of all the emotions from the last three years or if I was truly sad about the divorce.

I immediately went and changed my name on my drivers license and on my social security card. I took back my kids' last name! Yay!

Truth be told, I stopped and got two bottles of champagne. One to take to my counseling appointment today (I made sure it was non alcoholic! Gotta drive home!) and one bottle to toast tonight with the kids.

These last three years, two years, of marriage, have been incredibly difficult. I would not be where I am today with out everyone's support! You are family to me!

Carl, hell ya! Hook me up! :)

Hi Michele,

Glad that it went to plan :) Sometimes the stress of something big going on, and the thinking about it for time, I think can lead to a release, like you said.

Onwards and upwards, I hope that the rest of your day is going just fine.

At first when I read the title D-Day, I completely thought of another word.. but when I read this post,
BOY AM I GLAD FOR YOU GURL!!

I'll admit it, it was kinda sad for me when his last words were 'take care'.. but you're a free woman now, and you're happy with it! Congratz!!

OKay, Carl, is your friend really good at wow or does he play a Death Knight and just moosh everything in his way? That class is so overpumped its not funny, ya'll.. There ya go, now I blew my cover. I used to be a well respected raid leader until some dude got a little "stalkery". That happens in WOW, especially, when they find out you are a real live female. He did send me some nice flowers...

I'm glad its over, Michele! Celebrate tonight and enjoy the freedom. You have done the right thing. You are so much braver than I am, I don't even mention the "d" word. I don't like to think about it and all the stuff it entails. I do know I will be going back to my maiden name. Ah, how I missed being called Scout (maiden name is Finch). You got this!

Thank you all so much! Had a wonderful dinner with my son- daughter is working.

Rob, a southern ladies doesn't speak in appropriate words....ok..well maybe this one time I did! Lol

AV- there is no way I could have done this alone. Everyone's support got me through some really crappy emotional days. Please know that you will not walk your walk alone! We will be there every step of the way!

Trina, you are so right about working on myself. I have to get to know myself again and it's a new experience everyday! Forward March!!!
