Paxil and trazo-done

Hello everyone.Just got back from the Doc.I have been on Pristiq for 7 weeks and i could no longer sleep or even relax. She suggested that i try Paxil (paroxetine 10 mg to start) in the morning and to take trazo-done 50 mg at night.I asked why take two different antidepressants and she told me that trazo-done was a weaker antidepessant but it should help me with my sleep and that eventually i would increase the Paxil as i was weaning off of the pristiq. Has anybody out there had to take these two antidepessants and had sucess with them.Thank you.

Thank you Karen for the feedback.My doc thinks that i might not have any side effects if i stop the Pristiq cold turkey because i will be taking the Paxil in the morning and the trazodone at night.If i want to be on the safe side, she suggested that i take a Pristiq every other day for 5 days.I took my first trazodone last night and my first Paxil this morning.I managed to sleep 3-4 hours last night but it will take sometime to get the Pristiq out of my system.Do you know of anyone who has not weaned off of Pristiq gradually and went to another antidepressant without any problems ? Today is my first day without Pristiq and i am starting to feel better so, i am not so sure that i want to take a Pristiq tomorrow morning to begin my 5 days of on and off Pristiq.Thank you for your feedback
