Hello .........
Your problem goes beyond not having work!
I here you. I was once where you were graduating in a field that maybe was a mistake getting into in the first place. I did use a career counselor along with a group of tests to find out what area of interest would i likely do well in. It was a good LONG-TERM solution.
Long, long ago, I once had a guitar teacher - who taught guitar by night and was an accountant by day. He told me some words of wisdom I never forgot.
"Go into a field you enjoy working. First, your daily life will be more satisfying - and second, because you enjoy doing it - your chance of progressing in that field is much better."
This does take a great commitment of time and energy! It is a long-term solution. It doesn't help today's pay scale.
Example .......... my degree was in Music Theory and Composition. I couldn't get much work in that field in my area of 6-million people. I was married. I needed an income.
It took 7-years of work and passing a 36-hour test, but i became a licensed architect. My counselor said i showed ability in that area. I worked for others for 20-years .... then opened up my own one-person business that survived and paid the bills for 23-years. I also enjoyed the hell out of it.
But ......... that's really long-term!
It's a very tough choice to make to change fields - after all that work in that field to get that degree.
So ..... yeah ....... it's much more than just making minimum wage!!!
And of course, you have a partner - which might make it impossible to move! I know ....... decisions in life should be easier!
Best to you
