When feeling down, good news can be a lift.
Went to sub at my old high school today, the one I was most often at last year. The kids are sweet. Some even remembered me.
When I got home, a woman with a contract agency called about
a prospective job. I had applied for it yesterday, and emailed with her a few times. There are a LOT of contract firms around here, with so much federal staffing. The job is a training coordinator, doesn't pay great but okay, is full-time, and is near where BF works, down the hill.
They are submitting my resume to the client, and she will let me know about
the outcome.
This is the first nibble I have outside of education. My entire adult working life has been higher ed.

Kudos to you...Indeed good news is like potato chips with no calories...not likely, but worth hoping for. I HOPE you find what fills that space for you!

Well, it is just the first step. No interview, yet.
It's been 15 months since I quit the university. Substituting is mentally NOT-taxing. Not only am I poor, but I am bored. Throwing-bits-of-paper-on-the-floor-to-make-a-pretty-pattern bored.
But, two nice events in one day is good.
