Karen - im glad you are feeling better and you slept in. I took two sleeping pills last night and had the strangest dreams. One was that I found out I was pregnant and I posted a pic of my belly on here!! We all know how impossible pregnancy would be with me!! LOL! I thought about you yesterday when I looked at the temp and it was 91. I swear I'm coming to spend fall with you and Jasmine!

Oh Myself!!!!!! I feel your pain about the two type of kids!!! Our area is very wealthy- im not one of those. I have a student who's family is beyond super rich. He tells us all the time that he doesn't have to do his work because he's just going to work for his family. When mom and dad are contacted, they back him!! Seriously?!?! I'd rather work with the kids who appreciate it too. So far, this is the best group of kids I've ever had!!! They are so sweet and helpful to each other and generous. It's so nice to see. You know my email is in my profile if you ever need to vent!! We have to stick together!!

AV- how are youuuu?? How is the job going?? I'm anxious to hear all about it!!

Cilly, Dan, Trina, UA, Brenda, Dixie, Mrs Bairds ( sweet pea) and everyone else, I hope you are doing well today.

I'm ok. I had a horrible confrontation last night over text with a co worker. She is our special education person for the math dept this year. It is hard for me because I know what her job is. And I'm trying so hard not to be critical - just because she does something different doesnt mean she is wrong. Well, my team members came to me to complain about issues which are relevant. We talked about all four of us sitting down with her but figured she would feel attacked. So I talked to her yesterday since I am the department head. Everyone's issues were common, not personal pet peeves.

Well she texted me yesterday and blasted me for "talking to other teachers about her". I explained that people came to me, that it was my job to communicate the teams issues to her. Somehow she didn't know I was dept head. I tried so hard to communicate with her last night to no avail. I tried to keep it as professional as I could. But this is the second time I've been "attacked" by her. So I copied the entire conversation and sent it to her boss with the question "now what?". I did seek advice from her boss on how to effectively communicate with her.

Honestly, my brain is obsessed with it. It's the old me coming out - a great super friend told me "I can be in a room with a 100 people and 99 of them like me. But instead of focusing on them, I put all my effort into that one person who doesn't." So Im trying to distract my brain. I'm very much trying to practice mindfulness today.

Pretty much all week my back felt good. Much better than the week before. Today it hurts pretty bad. It's raining on and off today as a front moves through.

I'm getting in just before midnight CST.  Friday was purely a lazy evening spent in PJs watching a movie and ordering pizza with hubby.  Today has been rainy and overcast, but no cool front yet.  I'm still procrastinating with placing my usual over the top fall decorations out front.  That's just not like me.  I always push through the pain and depression to create the appearance of "all is well" if it LOOKS well!  You know, "fake it til you feel it".  My "faker" seems to be on the fritz.

We spent tonight watching our Ole Miss Rebels open a can of whoop-arse on Texas A&M...Tomorrow night is the GIANTS vs. EAGLES.  Of course we face paint, pull out the jerseys, helmets, foam fingers and all that garb...Hey we have to support our southern son ELI=)  Don't hate...Football is 3 hours of complete distraction from our otherwise sad, painful lives (insert tiny violins playing).

I've read through today's thread.  I hope that each of you finds whatever you're looking for...at the very least the blessing of a sun-filled Sunday.  Be well, friends!

Morning all-

The co worker and I kissed and made up yesterday. We talked it all out and decided our motivation was our students success.

No kids yesterday at school- we had a work day. OMG!!! We got so much accomplished. We have lessons layed out till January 1. This in itself took a huge burden off of our shoulders. We all left work a little lighter yesterday!!!

My depression is right at the surface... I can feel it. And it's not situational. I see my doc on Oct 24. I haven't been to therapy since late August. I think I may need to make an appt.

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!! The high temp today will be 76 degrees. That's winter for us!!!!!

If it was 76 here I would be doing a happy dance. Though it is warmer this morning, due to rain and possible thunderstorms. It got surprisingly warm this morning.

Glad you had such an accomplishment at school/work... That is always nice. Load lifted...

Today it is 85, from 61 yesterday. Head pain. silly weather.

Chel hang in there. Perhaps consistent therapy for a while will do the trick for your depression.

Jamie, sound like you have cabin fever already! What is up with that? LOL

Waiting today til 4pm for the Heating/AC guy to come and do yearly maint on our unit. Bet he comes at 3:55pm. Just because that is the week I am having and I have 3 errands to run today.

Well it is what it will be, no forecasting right?

Hey Y'all...Not much to report here, still trying to get my "give a shart" back.  It's just not there.

Jamie, I'm sorry for your vision issues.  I know that problem INTENSIFIES other problems.  I'm struggling with vision since shingles virus attacked my eye 4 months ago.  I need glasses, but have to wait until the virus subsides. It's been HELL on earth and doesn't seem will EVER be better.  I digress.  SO HAPPY you have your new "peepers" ordered.  You'll be one tricked out TURTLE, no doubt.

Trina, your dog's escapades are far too familiar=)  My 2 Dalmatians kill anything in motion, ranging from chipmunks to young possums, too.  Strangely, they amuse themselves with turtles and frogs, but don't harm them.  There's a "special frog" that one dog has "befriended".  Twice my husband has found that frog sitting (yes) INSIDE the glass porch beside the dog's kennel (in the a.m.)  How does it get inside the door?  It FREAKS me out, because we have poisonous snakes.  If a frog can enter...so can a...SNAKE!!!    No, there is no entry point except for the storm door.  Who knew dogs-n-frogs? 

I have a little rusty sign on my deck that reads "The more I get to know some people, the more I prefer dogs". 

Karen...I'm glad you're feeling better.  I live vicariously through you, with your walks in the woods, your orchard adventures, and best of all...your COOKING!

Jess...Continued hugs and hopes for you to feel better=)

Chel...Glad you got things sorted out.  Isn't it amazing how "productivity" lifts our moods?

Yay!  Our Rebels remain undefeated in SEC.  Nay!  Our son of the south Eli literally got sacked, along with our NYG.

It's been stormy here for several days bringing a cool front through.  Both my husband and I LOVE cooler to cold weather, with neither being a fan of hot, humid weather.  Last night I cooked a "breakfast supper" of smoked sausage, biscuits, and eggs over easy...my husband's favorite on a winter night=)  No Winter here yet...Just a slight drop in temps, suggesting there's a possibility of Fall!?!

Wishing for everyone a pleasant week with the possibility of happy moments.

Chele-Glad it worked out with the co-worker. You are carrying a lot this school year--make an appointment.

I am eating my lunch salad with a plastic spoon, since I forgot a fork this AM. I remember once I had to fashion a 'spoon' out of paper clips and tape. Hey, at least I had lunch that day.

When I am super-stressed, I bite my tongue in my sleep. I got myself really well last night.

After school, to therapist, home, chicken rogan josh for dinner, and it is Dexter night.
