Adding Amitryptaline (TCA) to Paxil

My doctor said this is an option, since I never seem to get better than about 70 - 80% of myself. I've been on Paxil for 8 weeks.

Has anyone heard of doing this or has anyone taken a TCA with an SSRI for difficult to treat depression?

I remember taking a low dose of amitryptaline for pain when I was a teenager.

Hi Keaz. I've been absent a bit from the forums. Just saw this.

My bff takes amitriptyline for sleep I believe. She also gets the extra bonus of it helping depression. She takes Zoloft too.

My psych prescribes it a lot & he's also a pharmacist. I think it's a pretty good med.

Have you had Bloodwork done lately? Vitamins, iron, thyroid, etc?

I'm doing ok. Week 3 on Viibryd while titrating Pristiq at the same time. I'm on 10mg Viibryd for another week. I've had some body aches but I think it's tension & getting used to a new bed.

I pray for you every day. I know I say that a lot but I truly do. I have a mental list of about 15 names I pray for daily (from the forums & family/friends).
