Update...

'Spot's wound continued to increase in size because of his licking and scratching. My husband took him to the Vet yesterday (while I had a tooth pulled). He was sedated, cleansed and sutured. Now home with a bandage around his neck..

We can keep the bandage on for three days...but worried that when it's removed he'll scratch the site open again.

Twice daily amoxicillin...gave the first pill this morning, crushed in a tiny amount of tuna. Best I could do. Hope that's OK....'cause I can't stuff pills down his mouth.

Supposed to keep him indoors for 30 days...ya shur

Hoping PA_Grandma sees this as I am not very knowledgeable about computers...are you aware that there is an injectable antibiotic that lasts for 2 weeks? I have 2 cats with chronic skin issues due to allergies. They are indoor/outdoor cats and I have found this method much better than pills. It's a bit pricey but soooo worth it.

It sounds like we have similar 'furbabies'. My two are six year old former feral indoor/outdoor brothers. Spot is the one with the skin problems. Not sure if it's a food allergy or something we haven't discovered.

Bottom line. What is the name of your injectable. I'll look into it and discuss with the Vet. ~ Joyce

I just remembered, when my dog had a urinary infection, I had an injectable antibiotic too. Yes it was more expensive, but she doesn't do pills well. In fact it is a real pain trying to give her a pill.

It isn't as cold here this morning. Hope it gets sunny. I am going to make a huge pot of chicken noodle soup today. I freeze it in containers so I can take it out on cold days. Yum!!!

Been up for awhile, but slept until 5:00 this morning which was nice. Stayed up until 10 or 11 last night. Usually in bed by 9.

Moderate weather here in Pennsylvania this morning. Sun is shinning. Hope it's mild enough to melt the ice on our driveway which is about the length of two football fields. Exiting to the main road has been a challenge. slip, slide, slip

It seems not many people are posting on the forum at all lately. But it goes that way, then there will be newbies and tons of posts.

Off to do the dishes, and then start my chicken noodle soup... I make a huge pot of it and freeze it. Yummy!!!

Good morning, gang...Nope...not too early, I slept in (almost twelve hours...what does THAT mean?). Then, I had to pill the cat, ugh. That took forever. Twice a day for four more days, and the neck wound is still looking ugly.

Can I go back to bed? Oh well...time to 'smile'
