Hey everyone, so this is my case -
I have been on and off sertraline (zoloft) since I was 19 (i'm 27 now) I originally got on for anxiety and depression back when I was in college and when it got better I went on to a few different meds however this past year I am in a much happier place and feel I no longer need the zoloft. However in the past everytime I try to taper off the side effects from the withdrawals are so intense I end up caving and just staying on a low dose .
So in the past few months I've slowwwly eased off / cut down on my dosage. I was taking 100 mg for about 3 months and then went to 50 mg for about a month and then started cutting those in half (1 100 mg pill into 4 sections) so 25 mg and then 25 mg every other day until I ran out.
I noticed some of the typical side effects such as irritibility, anxiety, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nasuea , etc but they weren't too too bad.
In the past 3 days however, I've suffered EXTREME dizziness and dizzy spells, brain zaps, and fatigue. Mentally, I am not depressed or having anxiety but physically my brain is so foggy and the brain zaps are so intense I can barely do anything . Even sitting at my computer is hard during one of these spells.
I've browsed several forums and found that certain supplements are supposed to help with the "brain zaps" such as fish oils, antioxidents, vit c, B vitamins, and Gaba or Sam-e
I have one more script that i never got refilled and am considering getting it and going back on the low dose and tapering off even slower this time.
Has anyone been through this or know someone who has been? I really need advice on how to go about this and what is recommended for the dizziness most of all.
