Adult Child Breakup

I think it is better to know this now instead of later. I Know she vested time, but it is all a learning experience for her. She has to live her own life and make her own decisions. Let her go through the hurt, we grow that way... I am sorry this has happened, but I think it is better to know now...

She may go through this again, or the next one may be the one... It is hard to say. It is all a process of growing...

I think that it is better he became honest instead of leading her on any longer. The longer the harder it is. Keep her busy if you can. Find things to do. Don't make it sound like the end of the world. The more adjusted you are, the better for her.

Let her know that there is nothing wrong with her. It is just what it is...

I hope things get better. Keep in mind, it is all a learning experience and it becomes the way we see it. If we don't get upset more than normal, or not make a huge deal out of it, the easier it is to get through. It is all in how we cope with things.

Things will get better, it just takes a little time.

The only thing one can do is move forward. One day, maybe he will realize that relationships only last because people love one another, even if they are not 'in love' with each other all the time. I'm sure there are things your daughter learned about herself in the time she was with him. I don't regret my past relationships. They all taught me something about myself. One of them in particular was part of my healing from past hurts. I hope the hurt doesn't last too long. It's okay to mourn for what might have been as long as we don't loose sight of what will be in the future! Keep sharing, I believe it helps lessen the burden.

This happened to my adult daughter as well. She was absolutely heartbroken. I cried along with her. I got so upset that I started bleeding 2 years post meno.
I never really liked him and think it happened for the best and now she feels the same way. I told her to use this time to be true to herself and find out what it is she wants out of life. To reflect on what was wrong in the relationship- his part in it and hers. She had several long term relationships with the same type of man. She hasn't found anyone since and it's been a few years. She has grown & I so wish the right man would come along for her.

I'm still struggling with this issue.

My daughter seems better than I am about this.
Why can't I just let it go...
(Which seems to be a lifetime problem, letting go)
He seemed like such a Great guy and a good fit for our daughter.

Use CBT. positive thought prosessing .

Bad thought comes, replace it with a valid good thought and keep repeating it in your head.

You are not your daughter, you can not live her life.

Life yours to the fullest instead.
