I survive this disease by capturing my thoughts in a journal. Most of the time it is just my ramblings, but every now and then I will try and capture what I am feeling in a more thoughtful way. Here is my latest and I felt like sharing it with you, my family. The Storm I set sail one day on calm blue seas It did not matter where The wind was soft with peaceful seas The sunlight for my guide But soon I looked and all around Dark seas had sprung to life Each monstrous wave would crash upon My only hope for life The little boat so calm before Was battered, frayed, and torn In hopelessness I hung my head Ready to surrender to the storm Then piercing dark, a light did shine To bring me safely home And through despair fresh courage came To face the trials of life And gently turned my little boat As the light guided me home He stood there on the sandy shore Arms open to embrace “Come here my child and gain some rest before the next storm comes” I love you all and hope you find peace amongst your storms.
