So few people get it...

My neurologist passed away July 11th. I found out 7/24. Took 'til 8/10 to make another appointment with new Neuro thru 'gate keeper' at same Hospital Grp for 9/24 at 8am in Philly.
Really? 8am?

Husband and few friends, PLUS support group can not see the stress here. Do they not care what the relationship with their Docs is? What kinda of care they get? Well, hubby is healthy as a newborn Ox, so he does not count!

Anyway, saw my PCP and she went to Med School with a Neuro that is in New Jersey 20min away, I called today and rcv'd appointment for 9/14 at 11:40am. So we will see if she is good. I like the fact of seeing a women rather than a man. I may not get, 'well, nothing shows on your tests, it may be all in your head"

yes! it is in my head. I have Trigeminal Neuralgia and Hemicranial Continua and A typical Face pain.!!! Idiots. Feel like driving back down to John Hopkins., too far for me though.

many healing thoughts trina. life is about change. my condolences over the passing of the neuro. my gp is a good man, I love him. he is nearly 71. so a new gp will come into my life one day. he is the only stable one I have had!!! and my psychiatrist. alike many, the turn over effect is harsh, but it is our life path. kind regards.

I am so glad you figured out a compromise. It's hard when changing meds, doctors, anything, especially when what you are doing is working for you.

I have moved so much, and had so many different insurances. I have had a hard time with rheumatologists and therapists, and these issues were usually mandated by different insurance providers.

I have to say I really like where I am right now--Kaiser has a system of in-house physicians. There are some down sides, like lack of choice in doctor and having to travel for specific tests. But others make up for it, centralized records, ease of most labs, and access of medical record to a core group of physicians.
