As each generation says, I despair of the generation coming up now.
A gentleman told me he thought it was crazy they had to take English--he already knew it. I explained the class was more about
English as a cultural context. He said he could find anything he needed from wikipedia or google, anyway.
Watched girl copying a basic worksheet for watching a film. Another gent (not wiki-guy) was over-heard to complain about
the assignment because, and I quote, he had "not read the stupid book anyway."
This is an honors class in a upper-middle-class community filled with over-achieving parents and bright but lazy kids. Not all of them,of course, but some.
I swear, I am bringing in my video camera to document plagiarism.
