Hi all

Hope everyone is doing well, I had an OK day yesterday, was in quite a bit of pain but my mood didn't seem to bad considering. A bit lower today though and the increased pain is getting to me. Going to try and get out for a haircut this morning then seeing my therapist this afternoon.

Med change is still going OK, managing to sleep and down to 15mg Mirtazapine now. Just hoping this switch will work out well.

I had some catching up to do here! Andy, I hope things are improving for you.

Power, I don't know what state you are in but here in New Jersey there is a group, Vet to Vet, there may be a chapter in the state that you live in. I had a lot of contact with them when my son got in trouble while on leave and ended up doing 3 years in prison. Not only do they care about the vet, they care about the vet's family! Are you a member of your VFW? They may have some links there for extra help. My son finds the activities there to be very helpful to him.

Thanks pitmom. I live in Mississippi. I will check to see if there is an organization in the state. e do have a VFW but they are not much use to the real vets. They have mostly been taken over by the politicians who want to win the votes of the veterans. For years those members who do not follow their leadership have been pushed down. Most who really care for the veterans have left and we only have those left who are working for politicians.
Mississippi is a poor state with below par education. What education money there is has been spent on sports. We have schools that do not even have books but have large new stadiums. It is very easy for the people with power and money to pay people to advance their agenda. That includes any veterans organization.

Hey Kids-- A little down today. Got an email yesterday from a middle school teacher I subbed for this past week, upset about something that happened in his class. While I admit my part in the situation, and apologized for it, I also felt his communication with me before the class could have been much better than it was. He didn't leave me a note that day, and relied instead on the sub-notification system for his instructions. I didn't remember the instructions, having read them three weeks before the class. So, I sent a response apologizing,because I was wrong. I reacted as a veteran teacher and went off-point. I feel bad, and am having trouble shaking it off.

Day off here--schools closed. I have to go fill out some forms and send them to the company for the new job. I also plan to shop a little and go to the gym. Tomorrow is a trip "down the hill," as we call it here. Likely the National Zoo to visit the pandas and then a volunteering gig tomorrow night. It is gorgeous here, with as many exclamation points as you like, but supposed to turn super-chill tonight and through the weekend. Time for the woolens to come out.

You know that the best thing to do is shake it off. It will do you no good to dwell on any part of it. I hope you can do that. You apologized, that is enough.

I think that the new job will be a good thing for you. And you can still look for a teaching job in the meantime. You are staying busy, that is awesome.

It is suppose to snow here tonight. Boo!!!

Myself- If he would have left better instructions things would have gone better. I am glad that you were able to admit your part and apologize. I hope you get a new job and a better teaching job as well. You will be just fine hun. I just know it. Stay well my dear.

Karen- Hello my dear!!

Andy- I am so glad that you are doing good on your new med, I know the first couple weeks can be a heck of a ride but you seem to be holding up. Good job hun!

Power- I hope that you find the help that you need hun, that VFW is craziness! Our VFW here is over run with bikers, yes vets that ride hogs. So cute really.lol

Pit- I am so glad that you were able to find that help for not just your son but for you as well. That would be so rough to deal with alone. God bless those people for their help.

Well I am doing a lot better today. I started my sleeping pill change last night and I think it may actually work. I am going to go on melatonin when I get the money too, I want off of these sleeping pills, not that they are bad but something my body doesn't seem to make enough of and I can put it back naturally. Yay. I could go back to bed now and sleep 9/10th of the night I know that much. So tired.

Glad your doing OK Dawn, I know what you mean about sleeping pills, I unfortunately needed them at one point but did my best to get off them which I thankfully managed before I got addicted. I've found tricyclics really good for my sleeping without the addiction risk.

My mood still seems to be holding up ok, was in a lot of pain yesterday and was a bit emotional about it at times but by the afternoon and evening my mood was still doing OK so can't complain. Just wish I could fast forward 4 weeks to see if this new AD is going to take away the pain and nausea or not. Trying not to bother thinking about it as it won't help, just have to wait and see. Hoping to go to church this afternoon too for the first time in months, my ex GF wants to come around and pick up some things and after how it made me feel on Monday seeing her said I would rather be out, but I may cave in and meet up with her in the street on the way out just to say bye.

Andy- Yes sleep has always been an issue for me and I don't want to get addicted to any pills, and I seem to do worse with the sleeping pills, strange. I take the pill and wake up and with out it I fell asleep in 20 mins or so. No more pills for now!? Lol

Jamie- Oh my dear shelled buddy I am so sorry that you are in a bad spot. Please remember that it does get better. Love and hugs for my Lil turtle buddy.

Slept like poop last night after taking my sleeping pill. I am not sure what to think of that. Maybe it is time to just get off of them? I have no idea. Have a good day all

Morning, kids.

Quiet day yesterday. Shopping, went down to the district to volunteer last night for NPR. They always encourage people to look over the bookshelves and take some books home--they get the un-edited copies sent to the media for review. I lucked out-one on chronic pain and Jane Smiley's last book of her new trilogy. Talked to several interesting people.

Today is super-cold. Football, making some curry butternut squash soup.

Had a talk with BF on Friday night, that started hard and actually ended up good.

hugs to all. ****hug***** the sun is out, looks like it will be a nice day. got a little bit of tree branches to move before the gardener comes. have a bit to pay, as I missed last time. I rang my therapists rooms last night, sunday night, as I need an earlier appointment for a mind dump. keep strong my friends. when the ****hits the fan, turn the fan off!!! lol.

It's not very sweet, Karen. I chop onions, add butternut squash and hot curry powder, a carton of broth, cook for 20 minutes,and then add two cutup apples,cook another 15 minutes,and puree. You could add a can of coconut milk too,which is really good. I actually went a little overboard with cayenne, so it had a BIG kick. I always put a dollop of greek yogurt in the bowl before serving.

I caught the cold that has been circulating. I just cancelled the sub job I was supposed to do tomorrow.

Freeze warning here in New Jersey! Too early! I live 5 miles from the beach so my plants were safe for now. Going to 'warm up' though.

GF bought me one of those faux wood burning stoves. Loving the 'flames'. So relaxing to watch. Now maybe I can find a candle for the aroma!

Hi everyone, hope every1 is well. I'm not doing too well tbh today, this morning I was feeling very nauseated. I dragged myself into work this afternoon and the nausea has turned into heartburn and pain which it usually does when I'm sat at a desk.

Mood still not too bad though been dipping a bit in last couple of days. Seeing my Dr again this afternoon to discuss my anti-depressants, I'm due to either drop the dose again or stop completely this week and ramp up the new one again. I really hope it works for the pain but moreso this nauseous feeling I keep getting. Trying not to worry about it too much, if it works it works, if it doesn't then I don't know what will happen.

I dont know if its the new AD or not, but my mood has been a little better this week than for the last few weeks, which is surprising considering I'm weening off my other AD. Im still on a very low dose of it so dont think it can really be helping, especially as its not even been a week, but maybe it's a good sign.
