Holidays are difficult, more so than every other day of the week. Life with depression is tough. People who don't understand mental illness can be tough to face. Children who are embarrassed of a parent with mental illness is devastating. Said child won't introduce me to my only grandchild. My heart is broken. I am going to a Celebrate Recovery meeting tomorrow at a location I haven't been to as my usual weekly meeting is closed until after the New Year. Any other time of the year I strive to find positive thoughts and to be a positive productive part of humanity. Why must holidays be so difficult. I will be home, alone, at Christmas. I need to find a positive in that.

Scin, you mention Christmas, so I feel I can say this. Consider how often Christ went off to be alone. Sometimes, it is the only way to find peace. We are told that when He was alone, He prayed. He spent time with His Father. With all that was going on, the folks that needed healing, needed feeding, He made sure He got a little 'alone time' to take care of His spiritual needs. Perhaps this is the time for you to do the same, when He is on your mind, when He is close to your heart.

His Father was separated from His children, and their children. That is the reason He sent Jesus, even though it meant they too would be separated for a while. He understands your pain. Spend some time alone with Him, while you can. It is His gift to you. How you live your life is your gift to Him.

Scin, It is called a 'signature'. You can make one by going into your profile and editing. At least, that's what I remember. You can list any conditions or favorite quotes, that sort of thing. I hope you enjoy your meeting and again, I hope you have a peaceful Christmas.
