Good morning this Thursday.
Karen, hope your storm is not VERY serious. Let us know.
We had tornado threats last night...but survived very nicely with just strong wind, heavy rain and lots of thunder and lightening.
John is scheduled for a ton of tests, Dr. appointments and biopsies this coming week. Hope my memory holds up to keep it all straight and in order.
Another year passed for me today. Nobody remembers (including my poor husband) ...but that's OK... I'm not glad to be older.
Hip still requires a cane and I need to get splinter or something removed from the other heel...too awkward to do it my self, even though I tried.
Let's hear from everyone now...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOYCE!!!!!!!!!!! WooHoo!
Busy, busy here. Stormy yesterday, tornado watches but we're good here. Gorilla tape saved the shed roof once again!
Picked up a new kitchen and bath magazine and one of the features is what I'm doing!!!!!!!!!!! Love it when that happens! Slow progress, but getting there.
Working my butt off, trying to keep the regular stuff going while doing the 'specials'.
Hope everyone is on an upswing.

It is still windy but I think that they called off the storm warning. I am glad, I wasn't too tickled about
six to ten inches. Though there is some drifting because of the wind.
Pitmom, it sounds like you are real busy.
Joyce, I hope you can get to all those appointments your husband has.
Good day to all. The sun is shining!!!

Still here. Got my paperwork to 'prove' I'm still disabled. Every 2 years. God, I hate this! Never fails to send me to the edge yet again. They want to know all of the doctors I've seen in the last 2 years! I can't remember! Think I'm just going to write that!
Computer acting up again.

Hi Jamie. Hello right back!! I have been worried about
you and have been sending many healing thoughts your way. I haven't wanted to push you, but I was wondering how your meeting went with your brother the other day. I know you have a lot on your plate. Just wanted to let you know I care.

Hi all. I have had an "interesting" past two weeks and most of it revolves around work. Urggh! I will skip all the very...long details. But needless to say, I have been dealing with a manipulative lady who is my co-worker and also a bully. For over a year I have been thinking and strategizing of ways to deal with her. She gets nasty when you question her or try to correct her "mistakes."
I have spent a lot of personal time (about
three hours a week) setting up my classroom. All for naught, as she has done things to the detriment of this. It all created a lot of pressure on me, and when she made a mistake with the Directors son last week I didn't catch it as I was trying to create space between us. And to make it worse I made the same mistake a week ago. It was not a good situation at all and I requested a meeting with the assistant director and myself and my coworker to clear the air. My director showed up too. I aired my concerns and disgruntlement and much to my disappointment I ended up losing my temper as well. Which was not cool.
I also had a medical injury that had to be treated this week. I had minor surgery during my lunch break and I had to promise my boss to return afterwards. Doc was upset as he wanted me off my foot for 2.5 days and I couldn't do that as work wasn't letting me off. For what it is worth I am sitting down now with leg up.
I'm trying to center myself again, put things in perspective and move on. All much easier said than done. But I at least wanted to share this and not stay with my head in the ground like I usually do.

Hi Cass,
I hope that things work out with the lady at work. I hate bullies. And manipulators. I think I avoid people a lot because of that.
Stick to your guns. Don't let her intimidate. It is hard, but you got this,...
Take care all...

yep, stick to ya guns.
bro, new meds. me pushing at the last meeting before the tribunal I chucked a turtle wobbly and the shrink finally agreed to reassess him in hospital, he had been a risk to others so he was sectioned, but with a new treatment focus and meds, that I had been screaming for ages he is just about
ready for the move into srs. and is doing much better. I stipulated a CTO as we all did, and he was firmly advised that if he plays up it is back in the hospital. the guardianship board was against our moves, but I am a savvy turtle and got what has been needed and long over due. cheers. don't mess with the turtle man!!! it near on broke me, but he my bro, and even though my family is totally dysfunctional, he my bro.

Hello all. Had a really nice weekend. Sent daughter and grandson to the movies so Lisa and I could have a little 'alone time'.
Found a 'peel and stick' product that looks like mosaic tile. The kitchen wall dilemma is solved! It looks fantastic! All that is needed is some trim.
Weather has been great, too.
Getting together with a friend this morning. Hope everyone has an 'up' day.

Jamie,
Sounds like things are finally working out for your family, brother... That is awesome, I know you have been dealing with this for a long time. I hope you get good sleep tonight.
Pitmom,
Awesome on the wall. You have been working hard on redoing things. Glad it is working out.
Rain here today, freezing rain. Boo!!! But it is spring like this morning. Suppose to get colder throughout the day though.
Hugs to all...
Where is Dawn Grump??? Did she say she would be taking a break?

Hi All....
Jamie, thanks for sharing the update on your brother. I am so proud of you for your continued dedication to him and fighting the very tough fight to get him the care that he needs. He is very lucky to have you.
Pitmom: Your kitchen work sounds wonderful. I'd love to be able to see pictures of your hard work. Did you get your bathroom work done yet?
How's the weather on your end, Karen? Connecticut is expecting lots of rain later today.
Have a good day all. I'm leaving for work in a few minutes. I have a later shift today, which means I won't get home till evening time.

Snowing like crazy here today. I was going to go to town but think I will wait until tomorrow. Or at least see if it is going to quit snowing. The roads don't look good.
Cass it is nice seeing you post. I miss everybody, Jamie, good to see you post. But seems like a lot of people aren't posting. Oh well, maybe they read. Or maybe we will have to do another shout out.
Hugs to all and to all a good day!!!
Karen...

I've dealt with depression off an on for a little over 10 years. One of the things that has really helped "speak to my subconscious" has been CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Training. The only thing we can change is how we perceive our situation, not necessarily the situation (change that if you can), but if not it all starts from within. Also recommend getting your thyroid checked as they are closely linked.

That is so true Cass. Though my thyroid tests come back negative, I still feel something may be going on. I am going to look into herbals and supplements to support thyroid health.
CBT is very good therapy. I got the book called "the new mood therapy" or "feeling good", It is all about
CBT and has helped me so much in my life. I agree with the "how we perceive" things too. It is funny how different people can observe the same thing and see it differently, but true.
I hope you all have a good day...
Hugs, Karen...
