Sadly, welcome!
I exercise regularly to keep my energy up and my depression at bay. Just getting outside in the fresh air serves to 'reboot' my brain. I notice a huge difference between exercising regularly and not at all. I particularly like the pool, where I can turn my mind off and just move. Just walking or biking regularly can help.
A schedule helps me considerably. Like many, I am not good with 'free-form' time. In fact, I am pretty bad at it. Even if it the appointment is a little thing, it helps to keep me on track and moving forward.
Another thing is mindfulness. learning to turn the mind off and turn on just being is hard but very helpful at calming anxiety and depression. It always helps me to see things more clearly.
Put the terms "sadness mindfulness meditation" in youtube, and try a few meditations.

Lastly, doing positive self-talk can really help as well. If my inner voice is negative, so is my outlook.
I am sure others will have good advice for you.
Happy Day to you!
