Joyce and Karen -- good for you, trying to stop smoking. It will be very good for your health, but I know it is very hard.
Good visit with the new dr. It feels good to at least have that change made.
Never been on jury duty -- sounds like it could be interesting, HT.

Smoked 6 years, quit 20 years using the patch after several attempts at cold turkey. Tried to break the psychological habit before the nicotine habit. It is so hard. Good luck!!

Fresh berries!! Ours were late due to cold and rain.

Congrats on the new doc! Always the hardest part of moving, IMO.

Jamie--congrats. I did jury duty once--I was let about 6 hours into the first day. Apparently the attorneys thought little of my judgment.

All else I missed--good day!

Can't afford to buy Microsoft office again--so transferring all my stuff to google docs. MS Office (It's called 365) is now sold in one-year licenses. I will get the program again--just not right now. Not much grading work available. Worked on apps. BF got a couple of calls for possible work--contractors reaching out to him. He is specialized at what he does--and is far more marketable than I.

Garden good-more tomatoes, cukes forming, and the cutest little butternuts. I am harvesting swiss chard, broccoli rabe,and zucchini flowers each week.

Still very down. Very.

Very good on the gardening Myself!!! Sounds awesome. I have flowers coming on but no vegies yet. Tomato plants are blossoming. Beans are up...

Early here yet. I haven't been getting up quite as early which is good. I love my mornings though.

Strawberry picking not as good as planned. This place didn't assign rows to people so they were all over the place. Couldn't find any plants that weren't picked. So we are going to another spot next week.

Myself, we use Microsoft 365 at work for e-mail. The company pays. Lol. I really don't like it. There are limitations which are very annoying to me. But I guess it has its advantages too.

The trays weren't real full UA. But we did get a good bit. They weren't ripe so we are ripening them. We will go to another place next week.

Hello all

Hope everyone's having a nice day. I've been a bit up and down. Saw my therapist this morning and I was in a terrible state, pain was bad and really getting to me. She said I should try and talk to it in a nice way, tell it that I hear it and I am listening, and ask it to settle down a little because I haven't forgotten it. I will try it and see how it goes, but like I said to her, it feels hard because I feel so angry with it, I hate it. But it would make my life a lot easier if I could stop being angry at it.

Oh and the UK voted out, can't quite believe it to be honest, didn't think people would want to take the risk. Exciting times.

Mum is coming to stay this weekend, will be nice to see her again, it's been a few weeks.

Our outdoor pool is open...so now lazy Joan can go often and not have to drive for a half hour each way to the Y. I love the outdoor pool seeing all the trees and blue sky. Makes life easier for me plus I know tons of people to say hi to.

The pool sounds great, Joan. How nice to be somewhere where you can just say hello to people, get sun, and swim.

HT - Hope you are doing OK. Andy, your therapist is right about being kind to parts of ourselves we don't like, like to the pain you have. It is really an ongoing practice for me. Enjoy your visit with your Mum.
Joyce, how is it going with not smoking? Keep up the good work!

Hi everybody!! A trip to the pool sounds awesome right about now!!! It is hot here!!! I envy you Joan... But am happy for you at the same time...

Hope, I don't have to do a lot. Everybody is so respectful of the rules and all. I do look out for spam though. That happens from time to time. But now people have to get approved to join here and it has stopped a lot of it which is wonderful.

Jamie, I would take any type of charge right now. I am tired today and have been for a few days.

Andy, I hope you and your mum have an awesome time.

Howdy all!

So my week's worth of holidays kinda degenerated into a week of Strep throat. Ewwww ... between the infection and the antibiotics my breath can knock a buzzard off a sh7t-wagon. Good thing my wife loves me and my cat likes dead things. To top it off, instead of zooming out to the mountains for a quick getaway we ended up having to have our trailer repaired. Oh well, at least we'll be good to go for next time.

I made the best of my convalescence by having a little geek-fest for one. I'm really starting to enjoy working with Linux - it's an awesome way to take an old PC and snap some life back into it. Plus it's free, and includes an awesome Office suite, so there's that.

Gonna catch up on all your doings. Later skaters.

I'm so sorry, F27, that you were so sick, and on holiday. And your trailer problems--I admire your good attitude about it.

Too hot for a walk his weekend, but had a nice visit with family. I hope this week I can find some way to exercise. Maybe a yoga class?

HT, hoping emotions are calming.. Where is Joyce and didn't we have another jokester here?

So confused exactly who is quiting smoking? Myself and Karen?

People get paper fear and can not work in offices or billing arenas. I seem to have developed, a posting fright, to much data at one time, brain can not process it all.

I get down 2 posts and forget what the first one I read was about.

Working on this issue...

Hi Karen...thanks for the kind thoughts. It's now day 10 of my nicotine quit....and has NOT been easy. Every day I ask myself.... why bother...why not enjoy the few hours left. ??????

It's not my lungs...it's my inability to walk because of Peripheral Artery disease that prompted me to quit. Stopping won't improve my condition, but quiting will keep it from getting worse....(and that might require an amputation,)

Quitting is a good choice. Or being smoke free. I know I need to also. I know it isn't easy. You need to be strong willed and persistent. Don't quit quitting they say.

I am happy for you and proud of you. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

Just wanted to encourage you if I can to stop smoking. I really admire you for doing it. It shows a lot of strength to stop so your peripheral artery disease does not progress. I know that at times I wonder about keep doing therapies, medicines, etc, as I age. But I mostly want to do it so I can be as healthy as I can for my family.
Anyway, I too wish you the best!

Went shopping earlier and think I left a bag of stuff that I paid for in the grocery store...another senior moment!!!

Did the swim thing and working at the computer stuff so I am okay.

Tomorrow I must do the wash and hope to swim again and maybe find the bag of stuff hiding in my car...lol.

awesome stuff my quitting buddies. I got to a 100 a day, yeah the cardiac surgeon came up to me in a haze in icu and said, your heart, mainly smoking and diabetes. I am a few yrs down the track.........I never thought I could, I just never gave up trying. support is everything.

Mum left to visit my sister. I'm home alone for the next 5 weeks. The summer term is ending. I have exams next 2 weeks. Can't wait to get it over with. I feel overwhelmed with life. I wish things can be less complicated.

Joyce hope the quiting smoking is still going OK, never had to quit anything myself but can imagine it's hard. My friends have used these new e cigs to quit recently if ur struggling.

Ua, hope the revision goes well, I remember just wishing it was over when I was going through it, they say the grass is always greener but 8 years later I'm still glad I don't have to do homework and revision!

I've been a bit down yesterday and today, missing my ex again and feeling lonely. Hopefully will pass, been a while since I had a good week
