My Lavender is blooming. From what I understand, I cut the long stems and purple flowers off even with the plant. They aren't all purple yet, so I am waiting. Will this plant bloom again this year? This is the first time I have been successful and had it come back the following spring. I am really enjoying it. I am just curious as if it blooms again this season.

Where I live, things can be hardy and not come back. This is the first time it ever came back.

Hey Karen--There are different types of lavender with different blooming periods. Some bloom early--others late. Mine is in full-blown bloom right now. In order to dry the flowers, cut and hang upside down. They don't usually bloom again--but cutting it back can encourage it to do so. Your plant seems happy,so it ought to come back again, especially with another years growth.

One of my favorite things--lavender and rosemary side by side after a rainstorm.

I love rosemary. I didn't get any this year. I have a lot of it dried though.

I just cut and put to dry a bunch of Greek oregano. I find it is really flavorful. I have thyme too, but it isn't a lot like it should be. I don't think it gets enough sun.

Thanks Myself. I hope it blooms again. Not all the flowers are purple, so I am waiting. But if it takes too long, I will cut the ones that are in bloom.

Forgive me if I seem mixed up. I filled my pill box Saturday and forgot my pristiq was at the pharmacy. So I went a day or so without it. I noticed something was wrong this morning. My husband picked up my pills for me. They are in the pill box now and in my stomach. I hope that doesn't happen again. At least not any time soon.

Just spent the past three hours out at my garden. First zucchs cut. There has been a baby bunny living in my garden, but I think I plugged the hole in the fence. The lady with the next garden showed me the hole--a over the weekend found it and she happened to be around when they did. She also said my garden looks like it ought to have fairies.

I have mixed up day and night pills before. It's easy to do.

My rosemary bush, 5 years hold died 3 years ago, I should have covered in the harsh winter.

I cut my lavender down and it is already a foot tall. I have the light lavender flowers.

I am feeling more normal now. At least what is normal for me.

Trina, your lavender sounds lovely. Myself, I hope you got the bunny plugged out of the garden. They use to eat our beans. We put a fence around them now. My dog loves green beans raw. I have to watch her by the patch. She will plow the fence down to get one.

That is a beautiful plant. I love the marigolds at the bottom of the fence. We use the same stuff only ours is black. Harder to see though. Your plant looks so healthy. Our watermelons are still little, he gave them fertilizer the other day. They should be growing soon. I will send you pics. I don't know how to do it here.

My melons have tons of flowers but no fruits, yet. I fertilize every week.

The butternuts are crazy--dozens of tiny little squash. I keep trimming back the vines, but two days later they are even bigger. It's my first year--I am learning. I seeded marigolds and calendula outside the fence, in an attempt to placate the bunnies and groundhogs.

I am glad you are enjoying the herbs! Trina,too!! It is so nice. Trina-I lost my six year old bay tree last winter.

Bummer about the bay tree. It is kind of hard when you have something for so long and then lose it.

I have a strange tropical that I have had for a few years. It is putting out little leaves at the end of the bigger leaves. There is a little stem holding the little leaf on, so it looks like the little leaves are hanging in mid air. I don't even know the name of this plant. but it is cool.

It got pretty cool last night, but it is the first night without air conditioning for awhile. Slept pretty good.

LOL. I have two poinsettias from Christmases past. They are still growing. I can't make myself throw them out.

We are hot and humid here. I had to go do laundry unexpectedly due to a toilet overflow this AM. Even with the AC, it is still humid in here. Glad to hear someone is cool!!

Awesome on the poinsettias. They are a cool plant.

Today is nicer. Sunny and breezy. My watermelons are starting to take hold. Yay!!! Hope that your weather is cooler today.

So get outside, woman! Enjoy the day while it is here! IF I have some little melons, I will post the pic. I am headed to the garden in a bit. Filling out applications and learning Google Docs.

On a plus(ish) side, BF has agreed to go for couple's counseling (which he has done before but then dragged his heels) AND I made an appointment for next week. It is with my own therapist, but that is all that is available with my insurance. So, rah!!

Cool too about the little melons. I hope you have some. I don't think that there is enough time here to grow, but we will see. I tried to get him to start them a month before he did. Oh well...

Sun isn't even up yet. I am up with the chickens. Or earlier. Ha...

Did bf find anything out about his job? Is there anything new he could try? I hope that things get better for you both.

I have the same issue with eggplant-I might have got it planted too late. It's all an experiment.

How much do you sleep a night? It always looks to me as if you are up at 4 am.

Awesome Myself. You are going to have nice melons and squash. I think it is so cool that you are having your garden. I love fresh vegetables. We are having summer squash tonight with dinner. It will be so good.

I get up early because my hip starts aching. I usually go back to bed for awhile though. After I have been sitting up for a bit, it doesn't seem to hurt so much when I lay down.

I hope you have a good rest of the day. Oh and I do go to bed kind of early at times.

We are suppose to get some much needed rain on Wednesday. We got some last week but it is already dry.

Fireworks going on. My poor dog. I can't wait until the 4th is over.
