How long ago was this, "one night" and "waking up in the morning" that you were in such pain?

If this was several days ago, it sounds like you've been avoiding going to the doctor for an extended time.

Do you not normally go to the doctor if you feel sick?

Why does the thought of going to the hospital or doctor keep you from going? Is it your depression, or anxiety, or both?

What would it take to get you over that? Is your anti-depressant working? Can you get through this just once, to get to a doctor?

One problem at a time, and be positive about that problem?

It's great that you reached out for help. That shows you have a lot of strength.

It says on the net that IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It says the treatment is: diet changes, exercise and medicines.

You said you were taking SSRI, which the net said is a type of anti-depressant.

The net said there are also several medicines for treating IBS.

Can I ask you if you are on any medicines for IBS? How long have you had this ailment? Do you have a doctor for that?

You can also get Pampers type wear for adults at the grocery store, or just use some cloth type of material that might get you to the doctor's or the hospital. They'll have stuff once you get there.

Do you have transportation? Do you live near a bus line, or know someone who can take you? Could you take a cab?

I called around for somebody, and found a van type company, that if told them 3 days in advance, they would carry you for about 1/3 of what a cab would cost, and bring you back.

Thanks everyone. Just had a check up today and my psych dr said i could just stop the Brintillix without tapering....and when i asked her if that was safe she said you already did stop it. Which in fact I ran out....for a day...i didnt stop it...and she refused to call me in a refill until she saw me. Does this sound safe? Now she wants me to just start Wellbutrin...

As for whether you should get off of your first med so quickly, I wouldn't know, but then I haven't had 4 years of med school like your doctor did.

Of course, I've seen psys. make mistakes, so we never know. Has your doctor been a pretty stable, nice person up to this point? Do you feel comfortable with her?

I think, as an amateur, that you can tell a lot if you didn't take your medicine for a day, and probably for a day and a half.

Also what's going on here is she's giving you another medicine.

That's two different things.

1.Quit taking your psy. medicine for a day and a half, with no new psy. medicine starting, could be like stepping off a cliff, as all medicine drains out of your system, with no new medicine replacing it.

I stopped taking both of my psy. meds. one time, due to a horrible mixup on both psy.'s and patient's part, and as my two meds drained out of my system, I had a panic attack, and worse than that happened when I started re-taking my medicine to try and stop the panic attack.

But she's propping you up with a second medicine, staring immediately when you're to stop your first med, and before you have any problems. So there's no brake in you getting psy. medicine. She's given you a safety net.

Now, again, doctors can make mistakes. Also, you have to make the final decision, you stand to gain the most, and you stand to lose the most. I would recommend getting all the data you can, like going to the medicine website suggested on a nearby post.

Gosh, you and your doctor really came through.

Keep us posted if you would. You went to, "Oh, my gosh," to "I got to the doctor." Whew! You scare people. You champion.

Talking of the medicine, Brintillex, that you said you had quit taking for 3 days, WebMD said:

So in that post just above, you said your psych wanted to stop Brintillix" and you added, "Now she wants me to just start Wellbutrin..."

Now, in your latest post, you said all you've done is quit taking the Brintillix anti-depressant, but not saying anything about taking the new recommended medicine, Wellbutrin, which is also an anti-depressant.

Where is the Wellbutrin anti-depressant, that you were supposed to be substituting for the Brintillix anti-depressant?

Did she just recommend this over the phone, or was this in her office where she could give you a script for the new med, Wellbutrin?

She could also call this new med in over the phone, I would think, for you to pick up at the drug store.

We're back to, you won't go to the doctor. You refuse to go to the doctor. In your initial post you said, "Shoud I sse a doctor?"

Again, in your initial post you said you were having serious stomach trouble, "...maybe bc i didnt take my ssri yesterday?"

The SSRI being your initial anti-depressant. So you were skipping taking that, then you've quit taking that.

Never did find out if you're taking anything for your stomach problem. Do you have a doctor for that?

Hi,

Ive been taking peppermint pills i bought online for ibs. They help sometimes. I couldnt see my psych dr becauae she was not available during the 4th of July wkd and she never returned my call about going through the Brintillix withdrawl. I called a 24 hr pharmacy who told me stopping it cold turkey wasnt the best idea and she also told me I couldnt take a new medication until the Brintillix was out of my system. So i havent started the wellbutrin...im not trying to be noncompliant....im getting mixed stories
.....Anyway all of this doesnt matter because all i want to do is help myself but i dont have feelings that seem push me in the right direction....all the pretending things were fine has really just backfired...The Brintillix withdrawl has been causing me to sweat alot! This increases my anxiety alot.

Maybe the two meds can't be taken together??? Some can, some can't. I hope that you feel better soon and get the messages straight so that you know what to do.

Thanks everyone. My old and worrisome symptoms are coming back again. The one where I wake up at 3am or whatever time in the middle of the night with a very a really fast heartbeat. *Sigh*. I feel like smg is off in my body...but im no dr...its very uncomfortable...im so tired but its hard to sleep with this..I will def be seeing someone about this. It doesnt feel like just anxiety....I dont know what causes symptoms like this besides anxiety...maybe low sugar or smg? It also happens when i take naps...this is annoying! I have Klonapin but If its not anxiety i could just be making this worse.
