Tim Tam, Is that what time I can start drinking?

I already started, had a (horrible) strawberry margarita with dinner last night. One sign things are bad, I have alcohol maybe 5-6 times a year!

Today is better so far! Yay!

I am sorry Myself. A blown engine is expensive, often getting another car is better, but if you like the car a lot, it is sometimes worth replacing...

I was lucky when the truck quit going. I was able to call hubby and only a few blocks from home. but it would go a few feet and then stop. I would have to turn it off and then try again. He kept telling me to go straight home when it would run, go fast. But it still would only go a little ways. Which probably saved the transmission. We knew a guy and he drained it and put new in, it worked. Then we later had it flushed out and replace fluid. So it should be good for awhile.

Up where I live you need a four wheel drive because of snow in the winter. They get rather expensive. But worth it.

The sun is out here now. I think I will take a walk. Got dishes to do and am going to make spaghetti. Yum... Forgot garlic bread but can make some.

Just saw your post Lynnwood. I hope you feel better soon. I rarely drink alcohol either. It makes me depressed, but sometimes a cold beer sounds good.

o so much pain now from arthritis of knee and tendonitis of shoulder. people seem to be 'GONE MAD' lately. So very negative and unhelpful. don't give you a minute to start after the light turns green and expect you to disobey the law so they can pass you or fly over a truck. supermarket is like a football field and all these places that charge so much for coffee when you have to make your own cup and there is no place to sit. one place got $2 for a cup but you had to ask them for a napkin. just exhausted by progress. spent today resting.

It's called daylight saving time, not savings. Savings has, in a sense, become universally adopted, to the dismay of many wordsmith

Did you ever wonder?
Benjamin Franklin first discussed changing the clocks in 1784 when he penned an essay titled “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light” . One of his suggestions....Longer daylight hours would save on candle use.

Only two states don't follow DST. Arizona hasn't changed its clocks since 1968 except for the Navajo, who do observe daylight saving time on tribal lands. As for Hawaii, opting out of changing the clocks was more of a practical decision: Extending daylight doesn't help much in Hawaii's tropical latitude.

Collected data on 250,000 households and 7 million observations of monthly billing data estimated that.... contrary to the conventional wisdom....daylight saving time actually increased electricity consumption between 1 and 4 pm

Just remember...you'll gain an hour.....and a few pounds, from eating Halloween candy this weekend

Ancient Romans were the first to construct distinct left and right shoes. Before that shoes could be worn on either foot.

In the early 1300s, Britain established the first means to measure shoe size. King Edward II declared barleycorn as the basis for shoe measurement. He ruled that the length of three barleycorns were equivalent to one inch, making this the standard for sizing.

Shoes with heels were initially designed for men. The heel signified wealth and aristocracy. Furthermore, the heel helped men stay on the stirrups of a horse when riding.

The world's largest shoes measure 17 feet long and 8 feet wide. The shoes can each fit 30 people inside. The pair is on display at the Marikina Shoe Museum in the Philippines.

Joyce- love your posts. The one about shoes was great. Thanks for taking the time to prepare them.
Sorry about your car, Myself. It is always so upsetting to me when our car needs a lot (of expensive) work. But where we live, there is no mass transit, so we have to have a car.
Lynwood, sorry about the furniture. That happened to us last year. We got the furniture to the front porch, then the truck didn't take it. They said the desk had no top, but my hubby had put it out upside down so that it would be easier for them to pick up. Oh well, we ended up keeping it! Fortunately, where we live now there is a good charity that picks up things.
Hope all are OK today, Trina, Karen, Jamie, Joan, Tim Tam, and everyone else...

Kothurni--Ancient Greek platform shoes, used in the theatre. As the theatres were very large--actors had to wear costumes that enabled them to be seen from the highest seats, and Kothurni added height to an actor.

Learned new word last night doing a crossword puzzle

FEN ; noun , low land that is usually boggy

Tonight is my first night I am facilitating a group in over 4 months. I am doing the womens group as it is the first Monday of the month.

Will most likely be small and just an hour instead of two.

I feel confident I will well. Have my mindfulness tools in my head that I will use, practicing my breathing with the piano scale on my thigh gently and slightly so most people will not notice.

My gosh--UA--thanks for remembering! You are the first!! 48 tomorrow--but at least I do get to call my mother and thank her for stopping birth control one last time in early 1968.

Going hiking this afternoon. Too jittery about the election to do much else. Plus--ran out of my effexor and they didn't have it filled yet when I stopped yesterday. So jittery due to the lack of effexor, too. I have na few applications to do today.

BF's car is indeed dead. A sensor in the radiator declined to work--and the engine fused. So--there is that. Luckily,I guess,BF is currently not commuting and we can my car.
