Working on our 'emotional balance' and being aware of what we are feeling at any given moment can give us power over depression.
I always tell people I have a diagnosis of depression. The difference between that and "I have depression" is that I strive to not allow the depression to control me, I try to control the depression.
Mindfulness is one of my daily, integrated coping skills. This article
opens many doors to explore, so anyone can start taking charge of their diagnosis.
