Cloudy and raining here again today. I am sick of rain or of lack of sunshine.

Everything is lush though. But worrying about plants molding.

Rainy here lately, too. Still in the 'sauna'. Hopefully we'll have less humidity tomorrow. The strawberries are suffering.

Cloudy and cool today but humid. A little breeze though which helps.

Planted nine lupines in the garden today and cut back the catnip as it was crowding my lavender.

I wanted to go blueberry picking but we didn't go. Want to go while it is cooler.

Going through photos and old letters of my mother's. I need to head out to the garden and water.

I also need to go car shopping. Kind of fun--I got a partial payment from my aunt's estate. My current car is on its last legs/tires. A twenty year old honda civic with dents and honda-pattern baldness, a dying water pump, and horrible suspension. I am looking at station wagon type cars with manual transmissions, and are also fuel efficient. The current favorite is the Mini cooper Clubman.

I have it on good authority (professionals/relatives) that today's automatic transmissions are JUST AS GOOD, if not better, than manual transmissions. It used to be that you got better mileage (fuel economy) with a manual, but that is no longer the case. It also used to be that the purchase price of a manual was less than that of an automatic, but I have observed that nowadays the manuals cost MORE! Anyway, that's what I've found out in doing some recent car shopping; hope it helps!

My daughter is out of town. One of her cats is injured. I can't get him into the carrier. What to do? What to do?

Well, thanks to the internet...I have a mobile vet coming to the house this afternoon. Now, all I have to do is get him into the bathroom. Ha, ha, ha. Well, it may be easier than the carrier. Sigh.

Not like things aren't difficult enough, but he is polydactile...extra toes...extra claws! Geesh.

I'll update if I'm not too shredded!

Lynn--Thanks!! I want manual because I like it. Automatic is not as much fun to drive. Plus, since I will be able to afford a decent used car, and not be constrained by the cheapest available, I can dream. I looked at the Prius for a while--but they are pretty small. I drove a beat-up Ford Escort wagon before my current beat-up Honda, and loved it.

Hope the kitty feels better soon. And hope the hearing yields useful results.

Lawn mowing is nothing to be sneezed at in the wet wilds of summer.

Trying to gauge appraisers. It may take us a bit to be ready for one, but we will get there. I just sent a local appraiser pictures of the miniature enameled frame that *might* be worth something. I will be glad to get a lot of this to someone who will love it.

Heading out to water garden and then have training with one employer tonight.

@M09: Oooooo, the Clubman would be sooooo fun! I'm with you on manual transmissions, my current car has a 'manu-matic', and I'm always in manual mode. smile

I love my manual; EXCEPT when my disease acts up, then I just don't have the energy!!! yeah Haven't owned an automatic since... um, 1978. OMG, I'm old!!


Keeping my fingers crossed for the injured cat; sure hope it's okay!

Love, love, love the mobile vet!

Lucky has a puncture wound that had abscessed. She cleaned it, drained it and gave him an antibiotic shot. The vet assistant was wonderful with him!

I'm so glad I found a vet that would come to my home! This is going to be a game changer for me! No more having to haul heavy awkward carriers back and forth to the vet! They will come to us! Vaccines, well visits, sick visits, hospice and end of life visits...this vet does it all!

Comparably priced, too!

Lucky is resting comfortably in the tub with his 'mommy's towel' over him and the cushy bath mat under him. Warm compresses throughout the day. He won't like being kept indoors, but that is best for him for now.

I have the Lamictal rash. I've posted about it on the EDIT: Bi-Polar forum. I've very depressed about it and I wake up feeling "scared." I have spent the last 3 days in a "Health Anxiety" state of mind. Going to the ER last night brought up too much stuff for me too. Not sure how many here take "Lamictal" for anxiety but it is prescribed off label for Bi-Polar II (Depression). I think it's prescribed off label for Anxiety because it immediately helped. I had to stop abruptly and now I am dealing with this very painful and SCARY rash. If not caught early, it can progress to Steven Johnsons Syndrome. I don't know what I'm doing. Wish I had something more positive to report.

Sorry about the rash Kelly. I hope it goes away soon. What did they give you for it? Anything?

There is abilify and resperidol. I hope you find something that helps.

Thank you, Karen. I was told to take Benedryl immediately and then P-doc called in a 5-day script for Prednisone. I'm not sure if Prednisone can "stop" the rash or if its just for the pain. My biggest fear is that shower water opening up my blisters. Of course, tomorrow is the day. I must shower to feel better. Period.

I am sure that the prednisone will help. I Hope that the rash goes away quickly for you. The benedryl will help too. Rashes are no fun.

Yo, F27--that is freaking adorable. Hehehe--I would do that,you know. I like to make people stop and consider things outside their normal frame of reference. I have had a couple of bumper stickers over the years that strangers would stop and ask me about--at stop lights and parking spots. I caught a woman taking a picture of one last week.

Got some worrisome news yesterday, and rather than think about it (and ramp up into a full-blown anxiety attack) I seem to have shut down my thinking process altogether! Which leaves me bored and at loose ends, not interested in anything. The refrigerator is empty, and I can't seem to get interested in my book or grocery shopping or anything else. Too hot to go for a walk; all my friends... well, they all disappeared a while back when I was too ill for common interests, they don't seem to be interested in coming back into my life no matter how I entice them.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better. First gotta' make it thru the rest of today!
