Hi runnergirl, I wanted to welcome you to healing well forum. Glad to have you. I can totally relate to your situation. When I was 19 I went to work for a private psychiatric mental health care facility. I was going to school to get my BS in psychology and thought that it all fit. I worked my way up into management position position and before long I was running two different psychiatric residential care facilities. My clients were great (well, most of them were) but the job itself ended up being a huge drain on me, my health physically and mentally. It started from being somewhere I loved to be and looked forward to go to in the mornings to dreading it and dragging my feet when it came time to go to work and being called at all hours of the day and night. I was there for almost eleven years when I finally just took the biggest step of my life and gave my 2 week notice. Even though staying in my position would of set me up in my career in a big way...I am in school for my masters. I took a position with a physicians billing company which was a lot less stressful. I found that I didn't worry about my job when I walked out the door in the evening or something that I perhaps forgot to do. Unfortunately, I left there this last august due to health reasons so I am not working now just being a bum and concentrating on school. It can be done you just have to set your mind to it....Take care
