Are any Antidepressants easier to come off of than others?

  I have an appt. with a Psychiatrist in a couple of weeks to find out what's going on with my Effexor XR..it seems to be losing its effect. I have been researching other ADs and read such horror stories about coming off of any of them, that is am so apprehensive about having to change meds now. I think I would have to come off of the effexor before starting a new one. I know I will find out all this soon, but I was wondering what anyone's thoughts are here. Thanks!

there are positive and negatives about every antidepressant. Peopl have allsorts of horror stories but one antidepressant can be horrendous for one person but great for another. We all react differently.
You would have to come off the effexor first i think before starting something new but this should be ok if you decrease the dose slowly. I came off remeron and started lexapro and I was fine. Other people would have maybe had problems but everyone is different and responds so differently.
