Hi Katie!
I think that you should read this book.
www.amazon.com/Hypothyroidism-Type-Mark-M-D-Starr/dp/0975262408You can read it while you are getting treatment...and if you want you can read the section that relates to you first. This book talks about
mental disorders. We don't realize how much our hormones can effect our entire body.
Doctors have found a correlation between mental disorders and thyroid function...and they are still debating on whether or not they want to treat patients with depression with thyroid hormones, because many depressed people have low thyroid funtion...and most of them don't even know it.
I'll look through my book and find where it talks about
mental disorders...and I'll tell you exactly what it says.
Also, while in treatment ask them to check your hormone levels...with the saliva or blood spot test.
Hi Tru, thank you for popping into the depression forum. I have had to edit your signature as it is too long. Please see forum rule #19 which indicates that signatures need to be 10 lines or less. Thank you ~ Elisha https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=46&m=106997
