I go to a group at my church called "Celebrate Recovery." The larger community churches will have these groups. Basically, it is a 12-step program with biblical principals. Each week the step is taught and then we break into groups (ANONYMOUSLY) for different kinds of addictions, hurts and hang-ups. I go to the one for Depression/Anxiety.
Levon, please do check out Depression Anonymous. A lot of healing takes place in groups. Everyone is at different stages of their recovery. Not only is it a safe place to vent but their are also people who can share how they triumphed over depression. Personally, I think that the people here at HW are trying to grow. Many people just want a magic pill. If you are in a group - then you are READY to make a change in your life. Everyone arrives there at different times. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. A book I'd like to recommend that you might like is "How People Grow" by Henry Cloud.
Take care

I attend a recovery group too. It is nice to have fellowship from others facing the same trials I do.
