Dear Much --
You have friends here. Keep coming back. It's no fun being alone...and lonely. I know because I have pretty much been on my own for the last two months and, like you, find it difficult to get out of the house. My anxiety is not as bad as yours, but I find that the lonelier and more isolated I get, the harder it is to get out of the house. Does it feel that way to you, too?
Have you always felt this way, or did this anxiety come around fairly recently? I have been chronically depressed pretty much my entire life, but am on meds and seeing a counsellor. This forum really helps, too, because here I find nonjudgmental folks who know the language of depression/anxiety. Here you don't have to apologize for being ill. (Notice I said "ill" and not "crazy")
But, hey, we're in good company. Great American poet Emily Dickinson was a shut-in, I believe, her entire adult life. And some really heavy hitters in history with depression include Abraham Lincoln (he actually had a total breakdown in the the 1840s), Eleanor Roosevelt, Mike Wallace, Winston Churchill, and there's more, but I cannot remember anymore names at this point.
