Trazadone for sleep

Hi, I'm new to this board and have a question about Trazadone.  My doctor recently prescribed it to help me sleep.  I am taking 100mg per night and was wondering how long before it actually starts to work.  I've been taking it for about 5 nights and still cannot get to sleep and then stay asleep.  Thanks for your help!

I take this med for sleep and I have a hot milk with it ' I take 2 100 mgs and IF I need to I am allowed up to 3 ....non narcotic and does help me
You need to be calm when you take this and trying to already be getting geared to go to sleep I have found anyways or it will work opposite and keep you up or getting up all night
I take mine when in bed and have my hot milk with a touch of cinnamon or hot chocolate to help it kick in ...............hot milk is a natural way to doze off .......I can sleep for app 6 hrs when I take them .
For me it is great it stops my mind from doing all the " stinking thinking" and worrying constantly...Talk to your doc about perhaps increasing med ..do not do on you own ......I wouldnt anyways

Thank you both for your advice. I will try the warm milk...can't hurt! I am glad I found this board because it is so frustrating to go night after night without sleep and have no one to turn to for help!
