Aurora~
The combination that worked for me was ritalin and prozac. I would say that this was the best I ever felt. I functioned and was able to live a life that I always thought everyone else did. I had really bad days but, BOY, with how bad my depression got those days were nothing compared to the bad days I have now.
I will tell you though that it usually takes about 2 weeks for a med to start making a difference, I always said I was going to be rich and invent a method of intravenously dosing meds for depression. Or injectable depression meds like insulin for diabetics. Just some way to extend the duration of the drugs we have to take. I will tell you from a personal standpoint that it takes many, many years for a med to become "tolerant" to a person's system. Then the docs either try another med or add something to it. It is a life long struggle with finding the cocktail that fits you best and then another life time finding another after that one outlives it's effectiveness.
I know, no good news here but unfortunately until there is a better way to treat depression, this is the crap we must go through.
Hope this helps :)
