I DON'T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO TURN....I WAS INJURED AT WORK 8 MONTHS AGO...I WORK FOR THE STATE OF MASS.....I CANNOT FIND A DOCTOR IN 2 STATES TO PERFORM A SURGERY ON MY WRIST( TORN LIGAMENTS) BECAUSE THE DOCS DON'T WANNA ACCEPT THE STATES PAY SCALE.....I'M GETTING MORE DEPRESSED BY THE MIN....LAWYER AIN'T NO HELP....STATE IS NO HELP....WORKMAN'S COMP IS NO HELP(IDIOTS).....ANYBODY KNOWS ANY DOC.....BTR LAWYER???? I'M IN RHODE ISLAND..I DON'T CARE WHERE I GO....I JUST WANT MY WRIST TO BE WELL AGAIN...PLEASE, ANY ADVICE....SUGGESTIONS...

I am sorry that you are going through this. It is not your job to find a Doctor when you are on workman's comp,it is your place of employment's responsibility.
I would contact your workman's comp case manager and demand that something be figured out within 1 week,let them know that the longer this surgery gets put off,the longer your healing process will be,meaning the more money they are going to end up paying.

Or, going to a state run hospital,and sign up for financial help. See if you can get the surgery done,and then explaining to them about the trouble you are having and that it needs to be billed to your employer.

HELLO SHY, TX FOR THE REPLY...BUT LIKE I SAID I WORK FOR THE STATE....THE RATES THEY USE FOR US IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ONES THEY USE FOR SOMEONE ELSE WHO WORKS FOR THE PRIVATE SECTOR..BUT I WILL LOOK INTO THE STATE HOSP.....BTW I'VE ALREADY CONTACTED THE MANAGER TO NO AVAIL......I GUESS AN ATTORNEY IS THE ONLY OPTION I HAVE, AND  I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN AFFORD ONE..........WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOAAAAA.....THIS IS OVERWHELMING

that is so frustrating. My ex had a problem with workman's comp and when he contacted an attorney they did not take any money until after the lawsuit was settled. If they did not win then the lawyer did not get paid.

Good Morning,

I am so sorry your in this  spot and I can hear the pain and frustration in your post.

What you need to look for is a Personal Injury Lawyer.  Shy is right, they will not charge until the settlement is completed.  You are in pain and in our state pain is considered a Medical Emergency yet your employer will not pay the fee that obviously is  what your physicians in that area charge for this procedure.

Can you double dip, use the WC amount that applies and the rest on your health insurance?

Shy and Kitt, thank you for the replies, sorry i didn't answer earlier....Still struggling.....I've been on the phone more than i want to....contacting lawyers as we speak....different drs....i don't know.....I feel like i'm going to have a break down.....I've already been diagnosed with depression and i tell you it's alive and well..but thank you for the concern.
